Babz, also known as Man Like Babz, started DJing in 2017 during his sophomore year at Michigan State.
Born in Nigeria and raised in the UK, Babz moved to the U.S. for college. From the jump, he was drawn to throwing events. He started a fraternity on campus, and even though he had no real knowledge of Greek Life or American culture, he knew one thing: if the fraternity was going to grow, he had to master the art of throwing a party. That meant learning how to DJ.
He joined MSU’s DJ club to recruit someone for the job, but ended up staying and learning the craft himself.
After graduating and moving to LA, Babz discovered a deep love for sounds like Amapiano, Baile Funk, and Afrobeats through parties like Pangea Sound and No Nazar.
His sound reflects the cultures he's lived through and the journey he’s still on. A Babz set is full of electricity and movement, blending diasporic sounds in sets that bring people to life on the dancefloor.
